A passionate Food Technologist and Food Safety Auditor with almost 2 decade’s worth knowledge and
experience in the Food and General Manufacturing Industry, Shedi brings a wealth of experience and
technical know-how to the SCIA Group.
Shedi studied Food Science and Technology at the Bulawayo Polytechnic, Zimbabwe and cut her
teeth in the Food Science and Technology Industry at the Cold Storage Company (Meat Processing)
in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe before being headhunted by an Organisation in South Africa.
From those early years to date, having acquired quite a number of additional qualifications
within the Quality, Food Science, Auditing and Training realms, Shedi has become quite an
accomplished Food Safety Professional and has worked with hundreds of Organisations in these spheres.
From Food Manufacturers (Primary and Secondary), Packaging manufacturers (Glass, Metal, Board and
Paper, Flexible and Rigid Plastics), Retail and Hospitality, Humanitarian Organisations such as
the World Food Programme, Cosmetics Manufacturers and General Manufacturers, her experience
is wide-ranging, in-depth and cutting edge.
As a Co-founder of SCIA and Operations Director, Shedi brings Technical knowledge and focus to the
Operations of the Organisation and steers the entity into prime spot to provide for rapidly changing
Industry needs from a wholistic Supply Chain Management Perspective.
Whether it is managing the Suppliers of big name companies from an Ethical/Standards implementation and
awareness/Training /Supply Chain Security/Supplier Qualification perspective or taking Small
to Medium Size enterprises through the steps of basic awareness of Systems and optimizing
Operations, it’s all in a days’ work for SCIA.

decade experience helping large organisations to design and improve their food systems. A passionate individual with attention details she brings vision and innovation to SCIA.
Nontobeko has a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Consumer Sciences: Food and Nutrition
from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, a Postgraduate Certificate in Risk Compliance and Governance from University of Witwatersrand and
15 years hands on Food and Retail industry experience.
